Our journey in the funeral services industry began when we worked together at Renaissance Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC, where we discovered a shared passion for ensuring the respectful and seamless transport of the deceased. With a combined experience of 10 years in the field, we realized the importance of offering families comfort and support during their times of loss.

Meet Joe

Joe is a licensed Mortuary Transport Specialist, and together with his wife Kat, they are the proprietors and operators of Astyrian Mortuary Transport Service, LLC. Boasting 16 years of experience in the medical field, with a decade served as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medic, Joe brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to his role. His dedication to serving bereaved families is underscored by a sincere acknowledgment of his desire to have done more for those he assisted during his tenure in EMS.

Motivated by his Christian faith and a genuine commitment to serving others, Joe made a deliberate decision to transition into the funeral service industry. Commencing his service journey as a Removal and Transport Specialist with Renaissance Funeral Home and Cremation, he gained invaluable experience and a profound understanding of the importance of compassionate care during times of loss.

Identifying a gap in mortuary transport services within Wake County, NC, Joe took decisive action by founding Astyrian Mortuary Transport Service. This initiative reflects his commitment to delivering thorough and empathetic assistance to families during challenging times. This commitment prompted him and his wife to establish AMTS in the beautiful city of Raleigh, North Carolina, furthering their mission to serve the community.

Joe and Kat are actively involved members of Neuse Baptist Church in Rolesville, NC. Beyond their professional commitments, Joe takes pleasure in travel, reading, fishing, and movies. However, his greatest joy lies in spending quality time with his family and embracing the role of a new grandfather. Grateful for the opportunity to assist bereaved families during their hour of need, Joe considers himself blessed to play a vital role in providing solace and support.

Meet Kat, a dedicated and certified Mortuary Transportation Specialist with a profound commitment to providing compassionate care during times of loss. Kat's journey into the funeral services industry began after a fulfilling 10+ years as a Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant in the chiropractic sector. Feeling a calling from the Lord to transition her career path, she, alongside her husband, established Astyrian Mortuary Transport Service. Kat's professional background includes invaluable experience at Renaissance Funeral Home, where she collaborated on residential removal and transport calls. This hands-on involvement equipped her with the skills and empathy needed for the sensitive nature of mortuary transport services.

Her passion lies in offering grieving families peace of mind, comfort, and the assurance that their loved ones will be treated with the utmost care and respect. Kat's desire is not only to facilitate the practical aspects of transportation but also to be a source of emotional support. She extends a comforting hug or soothing words, emphasizing her genuine care for the families she serves. Beyond her professional endeavors, Kat is an active member of Neuse Baptist Church in Rolesville, NC. Her personal interests include traveling,fishing, reading, engaging in DIY projects, baking, and sharing laughter. Family holds a special place in her heart, and as a grandmother, she values these connections even more.
